ANNOUNCES TOP TEN LIST

RICHMOND - The Virginia Board of Accountancy announced today the
release of its 2007 Top Ten List. The
list reflects the highest scoring candidates completing the Uniform CPA
Examination applying in
Lawrence D. Samuel, CPA and Chairman of the Virginia Board of Accountancy stated, “these individuals represent the “best of the best!”-- they and their families and friends should take great pride in their accomplishments.”
The Uniform CPA Examination is computerized and requires that each candidate meet stringent educational requirements prior to sitting for each of the four exam parts. The candidate must have received a baccalaureate degree from an accredited university and completed a total of 150 semester hours of coursework including 30 semester hours of upper level accounting and 24 semester hours of other business coursework. By many, it is characterized as the most difficult licensing examination for all the professions.
The Uniform CPA Examination is developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), accepted by the Virginia Board of Accountancy for licensing in the Commonwealth and is given throughout the year at seven computer centers located in Virginia.
