Welcome to the Virginia Board of Accountancy (VBOA)

The VBOA regulates Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) in Virginia through a program of examination, licensure of individuals and CPA firms, consumer protection through enforcement of VBOA statutes and regulations, continuing professional education and peer review.

The VBOA's mission is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth through a regulatory program of licensure and compliance of CPAs and CPA firms.

Governor’s Bowl Challenge

The Virginia Board of Accountancy is participating in the Governor’s Bowl Challenge, a friendly competition among state agencies to fill the cupboard at Virginia’s food banks for the summer, when school’s children are at home and need our help with meals.
